To start or stop service, please call the Sanitation Billing Department at 770-424-8274 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. You are also welcomed to visit them at City Hall on Mon-Fri, 7 am – 6 pm.
City Code Section 74-38 (b) states all owners of residential properties within the city limits of Kennesaw must sign up for sanitation service with the city; NO private haulers are allowed to pick up within the city limits.
CURBSIDE HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE PICK UP
The Sanitation Department is responsible for collecting garbage and recycling within the city limits.
Garbage Collection: Garbage is collected on designated days once a week, Tuesday through Friday. The city provides 95-gallon trash containers to most residential locations.
Yard (Green) Waste Collection: Yard or green waste is collected every Monday when placed at the curb by 7 am. Green waste includes grass, shrubbery, weeds or other yard waste incidental to the growth, maintenance or care of lawns, shrubbery, vines, gardens and discarded Christmas trees. Green waste should be put in plastic or paper biodegradable bags or plastic/metal cans with tight fitting lids. Bags must not exceed fifty pounds and containers shall not be larger than thirty-two gallon capacity nor weigh more than fifty pounds. There is a limit of fifteen bags or three containers per regular pick-up for green waste. All branches, limbs and shrubbery must be cut into lengths of four feet or less, and no single piece will exceed two inches in diameter and weigh no more than fifty pounds.

Bulk Waste: Bulk material collection is available for an extra fee (price based on the item, size, weight, and collection time required to pick up the material). Bulk materials include, but are not limited to household furniture, mattresses, lumber, trees, limbs in excess of four feet in length and greater than three inches in diameter, tree stumps, large auto parts, any domestic and/or commercial appliances. Payment will be added to the resident’s utility bill. Call to schedule pickup of bulk waste items; fees are based on weight and/or size.
